Alotau is the Capital of Papua New Guinea’s Milne Bay Province. It is rich in history and culture as well as being rewarded with natural beauty. Milne Bay and Alotau are commonly known as being the site for the Battle of Milne Bay where Japanese forces suffered their first defeat in World War 2 at the hands of Australian and American soldiers based there.
